Mario Aiello

I was born the 7th December 1969 in Vico Equense close to Naples, in the Sorrentine peninsula..

I would like to start by saying that I don’t like talking about my life, maybe because I believe there is nothing important to say. However, I will try anyway, as it is right that you know something about me.

I was born the 7th December 1969 in Vico Equense close to Naples, in the Sorrentine peninsula.

When I was little my brothers and I used to help our parents in our family butchery. They raised us according to profound values, and above all they imparted to me the passion for cooking I still have today. While writing this, I think about them and realize that I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without their help.

In 1986 I started to work as cook assistant. Later in 1994 I opened my first restaurant “Il Terrazzino” in Piano di Sorrento together with my brother Gianni. He is a cook too. In 2007 we opened our second restaurant together “Silenzio Cantatore”.

In 2015 I took the (difficult) decision to move to Austria.
